This women’s model is every bit as burley as the mens model but is built narrower in the ball and heel, and lower volume through the instep for an excellent fit. An all-around mountaineering superstar, the Makalu will carry you (and your heavy loads) into camp, climb, plunge and crampon up and down and never falter. Extra stout (and supremely water resistant) rough out leather protects your feet, while the thick (but very light) Hytrel polymer insole and full steel shank take well to strap on crampon use.
