High tech and handy, the sturdy aluminum Task Light is about the size of a tube of lip balm, runs on a single AA battery for over 40 hours, and has a "bulb" that won't break and will pretty much last forever (or 100,000 hours, whichever comes first). The secret is LED technology: that "bulb" is a diode, which emits light without heating a filament (like a standard bulb) and is encased in tremendously durable transparent epoxy. The light is bright enough to read by, find keys (and their locks), or sort gear at the top of a long climb, and it won't destroy your night vision like regular lights will.
