After years of making some of the best stuff sacks on the planet, OR couldn't just sew up "me too" compression sacks; they had to build something better. In this case "better" focuses on the beefy YKK zipper around the lid. The primary advantages here are that 1) the closure keeps out dirt and moisture a whole lot better than drawcord tops, and 2) it allowed the sack to do away with the floppy end caps that are always getting tangled in the compression straps. Attached very solidly along one side, the lid can be kneeled on or used as a handle to stabilize the sack while stuffing. Since the ends are essentially square, the compressed, rectangular load will pack more efficiently than a cylinder. Other notable features include tapered Hypalon attachments for the four compression straps, Hypalon inner and outer storm flaps for the zipper, a webbing handle across the bottom, and a D-ring for hanging the sack.
