Mountain Hardwear's burliest ensemble, the GORE-TEX® XCR™ FTX Ultra Jacket is made entirely from FTX Ultra, an amazingly soft but tremendously abrasion resistant face fabric. Extra long pit zips give lots of venting, while Hardwear's Simplex zips keep the bulk down. The hood is easily adjusted, and cut to work well with or without a helmet, while the chest pockets stay out of harnesses' way. Separate zippers let you access your inner layers, a welded (rather than sewn in) powder skirt seals out snow, and two interior pockets will hold water bottles, skins, and other essentials.
