A unique pack, well-suited to any- (and every-) thing from ski touring to shorter trail trips to mountaineering. The Eclipse 42’s dense, lightweight foam side panels form a chassis that provides carrying structure for all your toys, and those same panels also compress the load across the front. As a result, you can "collapse" the pack into a smaller package for shorter trips (or summit pushes), or stuff it full for longer ones. Updated shoulder straps and hipbelt are comfortable, even if you overload the pack, and the Delrin hoop running around the backpanel adds flexible stability and support. Access to the main compartment comes via a zipper that nearly circumscribes the cushy foam back panel, and a top zipper gives additional access (and convenience). Those of you who like to play in the snow will appreciate the Eclipse’s ability to carry a board or skis vertically or, and side mesh pockets allow A-frame ski carry, as well.
