One of the most remarkable products ever developed, the Avalung allows the user to breathe when buried under snow. Its patented process filters air directly out of the snow and redirects carbon dioxide "exhaust" through a vent on the back. This lightweight mesh vest is worn on the outside of all clothing (but can be worn underneath a pack), and it won't affect the breathability of a shell or add unwanted warmth. WARNING: The Avalung does NOT replace good judgement, a transceiver, or capable wilderness companions.
